Biography

This sometimes-annoying manager got his start in the wrestling industry around 2089, as a reporter for numerous wrestling publications. In 2092, he began covering GWF press conferences, and eventually became the host of "Johnny Rocket's Launching Pad,. an interview segment taped during GWF house shows and supercards. Rocket became known for his inquisitive nature, which occasionally earned him the wrath of GWF superstars. In 2100, he was accused of being involved in KronoScam, in which match results from Kronos involving wrestlers from the future were smuggled out. Rocket was replaced as head reporter by Qualitar, which sent him over the edge. Rocket jumped in when the Entropy team was in shambles and renamed it the Rocketmen. He claimed his knowledge of wrestling from his reporting days would make him the galaxy's greatest manager." Continued to host his talk show, and shared press conference duties with Qualitar, which no doubt drove him nuts. He led his team into a feud with W.A.R. that showed he was a respectable manager. In 2105, he suffered his first recruiting defeat when Paragon no-showed his debut with Rocket, later ending up in the CPC. This snub infuriated Rocket, and he spent much of 2106 through 2108 sending his men after the CPC. He even formed the new FDF with enemies the Savage Kingdom in order to wreak havoc on the CPC! He was instrumental in reuniting Dreggs and Sleeze, molding them into the championship caliber Twin Blood tag-team. Rocket got the last laugh on the CPC in 2109, when Sonora (now known as Nora) Pelf left Magnus Colby to be at Rocket's side! This act made the Rocketmen targets of Team CPC, Colby's representatives in the GWF. Alas, the romance was not to be, as Nora left him for stablemate Paragon in 2113, touching off a feud between the Rocketmen and Bloody Revenge in the Hero-Hero Sudden Death feuds. Rocket's squad won, but there were no hard feelings from either, and Rocket subsequently proposed an alliance between the two groups to face the Brymstonians in 2114. That did the trick, as the newly named Rocketmen's Revenge vanquished their foes. And perhaps there's a new romance in the offing between Rocket and his new business partner? Rocket continued his alliance with Lorelei and group feud against Brymstone Burning in 2115. The feud continued through 2117 as Rocket signed Euritar to the team, but the battle for control of the dimensional portals sent the feud into obscurity in 2118 as Euritar left the team and half of Brymstone Burning went to battle the Immortals, leaving the remaining Rocketmen to feud with Turge and the Creatures of Lamia. After the cosmic battle, Rocket returned to his former duties as an announcer and interviewer and Elemental Fury left the GWF to pursue work in independent federations.

You've got to give Rocket a lot of credit. After years away from the ring he showed back up in the GWFZ and instantly became the best manager in the fed. He led The Headliners to multiple GWFZ Tag-Team Championships, persuaded Narcotik to join him, which resulted in even more gold for his team, and seemed to put the final piece of his puzzle together in 2123 by bringing Sledgend on board as his enforcer. A year later, that is all gone. According to Johnny Rocket, that's a good thing. It was a lot easier to deal with all the quirks guys like Grillz and Darth Brooks bring with them when they were dominating the tag-team scene in the GWFZ. Once they started getting passed up by newer teams, Rocket found all the annoyances of The Headliners unbearable. Rocket gave up on trying to help Narcotik clean up his act a long time ago. This was something Rocket tolerated when Narcotik was fighting for and defending GWFZ gold. When the demons got closer and the titles went away, Rocket all but abandoned Narcotik, going as far as to try and sell his contract off to Justin Case. Even Sledgend began to get on the nerves of Johnny Rocket. Johnny Rocket wanted to choose who Sledgend would fight. Sledgend wanted to fight in specialty matches against hardcore wrestlers. The two clashed and finally Sledgend left the team to finish 2123 on his own. Johnny Rocket is a resilient man. He picked up the pieces pretty quickly and his new Rocketmen do look impressive if not superior to his old team. The Undergrads are arguably the hottest young commodity on the GWFZ Tag-Team circuit. Parox was ranked by the United Stars and Planets Athletic Association as the number one Independent free agent rookie on the market when Rocket signed him. No more silly quirks. No more demons. No more out of control runaway trains. The new Rocketmen are defined by young, hungry, five-star talented fighters. In 2124 The Rocketmen rise from the ashes as Johnny Rocket's legacy as one of the all time great managers continues to grow.
