Biography
Perhaps no other wrestler in GWF history is as misunderstood as Morpheus. His place in ring history ought to be as secure as his
chief rival Omega's is, but somehow, wrestling historians have forgotten about his great success. Perhaps it was because of
Morpheus not being as easily loved as Omega was, for he was indeed more cunning and motivated by self-interest than the man
from Cetus. It's not fair, however, because in his prime, Morpheus was every bit the wrestler that Omega was, and some real
historians even claim that he was better. What unfortunately gets lost is that Morpheus was the first Heavyweight Champion in the
GWF's history, not Omega. Omega did strip Morpheus of the belt when he tired of what he thought were Morpheus's underhanded
tactics, but the fact cannot be denied that Morpheus won the big belt first. In 2085, Morpheus decided to hang up the boots and call
it quits. He was past his prime and was no longer able to compete against Omega. Some think, however, that before he left, he was
the one who planted the seed in the young Cosmos's head to abandon Omega and split the GWF battleground into Heroes vs.
Villains. No one knows for sure. What we do know is that Morpheus is one of the all-time great wrestlers in GWF history. He also
was the sole commissioner when Omega pursued political office to get the wrestling ban repealed. Cordanus took him out of power
once the wrestlers returned from Dimension Y, although he did remain active behind the scenes as an advisor to Phantast, the
Avenging Warriors and the GWF Coalition. Following a heart attack in 2113 which he kept a secret from all but his family and
closest friends, Morpheus’ health continued to decline. He passed away on August 4, 2115 as a result of his recurring heart
problems. In 2116, the GWF premiered their new state-of-the-art interview center at the Deimos Intergalactic Arena, named
appropriately the Morpheus Center in honor of the co-founder and first champion of the GWF.
