Biography

Pure evil describes this former Aethran inmate. Vengeance was released from a maximum security Aethran jail in 2096 to exact revenge for the Gladiators' crushing Sudden Death defeat at the hands of W.A.R. He is not a power wrestler in the traditional Gladiator mode, but an agile and cunning grappler who relies on the element of surprise for an advantage. He immediately challenged Massacre for outright control of the team, which led to the Gladiator Civil War in 2099 and 2100. Emerging victorious and with outright command of the team, Vengeance entered into an agreement with the Colby-Pelf Corporation during the MegaTournament. Tensions with fellow teammates the HitMen for Hire resulted in a Sudden Death feud between the two teams, which saw the Gladiators grab the victory. With momentum on his side, Vengeance then challenged W.A.R. to a second Sudden Death feud in 2106. The Gladiators won this feud, and as a result the entire W.A.R. team was banished for a year, which resulted in the demise of that team. In 2107, Massacre replaced Thakur as the new Aethran Minister of War, and tensions began to mount between the two once again. Massacre's acts of putting Spike and Mayhem back on the team, as well as allowing Brute to act as a manager, undermined Vengeance's authority as team leader. The conflict grew to epic proportions when Massacre was murdered while the GWF wrestlers competed on Centra in Dimension Y, and Vengeance was implicated as the prime suspect after a photograph showing him handing a cigar to Massacre (presumed to be poisoned) was uncovered. However, Detective Quidun and the Centran legal system determined him more than likely not guilty after examining all evidence, including Doomsayer's testimony that the poison used to kill Massacre was only found in the Andromeda system and not available for Vengeance to use in Dimension Y. The murderer remained a mystery until the GWF's arrival back in Dimension K, when Phantast revealed that Vengeance plotted the murder, Mayhem executed it by delivering Massacre the poisoned cigar, and Doomsayer supplied the poison and the doctored photograph. But the crime had been committed not just in another jurisdiction, but another dimension, and Vengeance and his collaborators went free. In fact, as per the Aethran Rules of Ascension, Vengeance assumed Massacre's responsibilities as Minister of War, giving Mayhem a high government position for his loyalty and promising Doomsayer a top level Aethran fighter for his Transevolver (P3, eventually to be called Disaster). He left active competition for a year in 2112 but returned in 2113 to lead his squad into battle against the Colonizers. However, many Aethrans were upset with Vengeance's assumption of the ministership and his handling of dissident Spike, and they organized a rebellion against him on Aethra. When the Gladiators lost their 2113 Sudden Death feud with the Colonizers, the rebellion reached a fever pitch, and Vengeance absconded prior to his capture, although Mayhem wasn't so lucky, being imprisoned on treason charges. Vengeance returned from hiding in 2115 to join Thrill of the Chase against his former comrades, the Gladiators. The nefarious mastermind fell victim to mind games himself when Bounty Hunter and Kill Prey convinced him they were splitting up over his presence on their team, a ruse that led to Hunter trapped Vengeance in a net, allowing The Gladiators to take him back to Aethra. Rather than execute him, they threw him to Paralyze, who crippled Vengeance. Vengeance still remains on Aethra, trapped in a wheelchair, plotting a revenge that may never come.
